For those of you in search of a unique starry culinary experience please note what happened last month in Montecarlo, when “Dinner in the Sky” offered the once in a lifetime opportunity to pair exceptional foodwith an exceptional setting.
From July 9th to July 13th some of the most well known chefs in Europe have alternated to host a total of 15 dinners for a selected few. During three dinner slots per night renowned cuisiniers, who can all claim gourmet stars to their names, were programmed to cook live for 22 guests per session. The first night boasted three chefs of heads of state (Elysee, Kremlin and Quirinale): no small achievement and one would wish the organisers put their hands to world politics as well.
But what all this has to do with the sky, well may you ask. Quite simple, really. For after meeting at the port of Monaco where you were sipping champagne in excited anticipation on a 35 m yacht, you were then whisked away on the magnificent boat diving into the legendary azure blue to be heaved- sitting with other guests around a huge metal table- 30 metres above the picturesque bay of Monaco together with your own star chef. A dinner truly among the stars in every sense of the word and which proved difficult to surpass in glamour, luxury and romance! The entire event standed under the umbrella of Princess Stephanie’s Fight Aids Monaco association, a worthy cause that has received Euro 100 – as a donation from each ticket sold, worth Euro 1000. This may count for the fact that her brother Prince Albert had also booked an entire table.
